About

ORIAS is a quiet luxury, progressive & slow-fashion brand that celebrates Filipino design inventiveness.

We love to keep our designs clean and straightforward especially with today’s highly demanded lifestyle in metropolitan living; our designs speak both global and local, maintaining a balance of control, sophistication, sustainability, and circularity.

Our partnerships with the Solihiya weavers of Pangasinan, Modern Inabel weavers of Isabela, Piña Textile weavers of Aklan, Master Bag Makers of Marikina, pinpoint handcrafted embroiderers of Taal Batangas and Master Tailors of Manila & Quezon City - gives us legitimate reasons to push forward even the current tides of the pandemic season do not favor. With our clever approach into designing our products such as bags, accessories, sartorial clothing, footwear & home accent pieces were noticed not just by local fashion magazines, premiere trade shows and local news shows but also the famous news-magazine show ‘Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho’. We also have exciting collaborations with other local designers and artists! We will keep on thriving because we believe in the power of authentic partnerships and meaningful collaborations.

Vin Orias Project Runway Feature

Vin Orias, the Creative Director of the brand, loves to be involved in the country’s nation building especially in the Design Sector; he has been actively participating in dialogues organized by the Philippines Department of Trade and Industry as he is also a product of the 1st Youth Entrepreneurship program of the said Government arm. He also loves to share his time and expertise to private institutions such as University Talks and Media-News outlets. For him, getting involved in the future of Philippine Fashion is easy, but being involved is another; the brand he continually builds is a reflection of years of triumph under the difficulty of survival in the local fashion sector.

With a background in Industrial Engineering as his baccalaureate, Vin makes sure his steps in the industry are calculated and well thought out. He finished his Fashion Design course at the Fashion Institute of the Philippines in 2011 while taking fashion and business seminars alongside with it, with his keen sense to detail, he was assigned to teach Menswear Patternmaking at the institute a year before his graduation.

Vin took a very challenging path after his graduation at fashion school, since most designers and design houses turned him down for his application as an apprentice; he dived in to Entrepreneurship! He went on opening his first sewing factory with 4 machines and 2 sewers in 2012 then slowly grew to having 25 machines and over 40 staff handling sewing production as subcontractor to big uniform makers and fashion retail companies in 2014.

2015 was a defining year for Vin’s career: he became a finalist in Project Runway Philippines Season 4, also bagged as a national finalist at the Youth Entrepreneurship Development Workshop (YEDW) by GoNegosyo & US Embassy, gained a special Entrepreneurship Program scholarship at the Asian Institute of Management hosted by PLDT-Smart SME NATION, and before the year ended he attained a Branding & Identity certificate from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.

During his time in New York in the last quarter of 2015, Vin got a eureka moment as he filters down his strategies as to being a fashion designer and a creativepreneur – it is the conception of ORIAS Studios. Come 24th of June in 2016 (his birthday) is the official launch of the brand at a trade show in SMX Mall of Asia. Since then the brand’s work has been featured in major local fashion magazines and has also serviced custom clothing to notable personalities such as Piolo Pascual, Catriona Gray, Alden Richards, Pia Wurtzbach, Maria Ressa to name a few, and even the President of the Republic of the Philippines Mr. Rodrigo Duterte.

Expect more powerful design movements from the ORIAS Brand as we move forward to a new season of Fashion that is more conscious, slow, circular and meaningful.
